Five Happy Things {Week 518}

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.

Last week I finished reading The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose which is a Molly the Maid story. I loved the first book and this is also a great page turner. Taking place a little while after the first book, Molly has been promoted to Head Maid at the Regency Grand Hotel. When a guest is murdered Molly knows she holds the key to the mystery. I enjoyed reading this book, although not as much as the first book. I’m delighted to see there is a third book in the works, as well as a Christmas novel.
I binge watched Into the Fire: The Lost Daughter and The Perfect Couple on Netflix. Both couldn’t be more different but were entertaining in different ways.
My sister came to visit for a few days and we took my pup, as well as her two dogs, to an enclosed dog field. My dog is never off lead as his recall is not good, so he was able to have a run off lead which he really enjoyed.
Both the kids went camping with Scouts for the last time this year. The weather was gorgeous one day and wet the next. They brought home very wet rucksacks, which meant a day of washing for me.
I decided to go for a singing trial with a local choir. It’s been a few years since I stopped singing and I really miss it. I found a local choir which sings the kind of choral music I enjoy.
What’s made you happy this week?
