Why I love this craft
I don’t work with velvet a lot; however, I liked how this craft turned out. The shininess of the velvet paired with the homemade pumpkin stem (made out of twisted jute rope) made for a unique contrast and look.
Is velvet easy to craft with?
I think it depends on how you will be using the velvet. In the case of creating these velvet pumpkins, it was pretty easy to work with. Unlike my ribbon pumpkins, I had to utilize hot glue to make the ribbon stay in place and secured.
The inspiration for this craft:
Creating my Dollar Store DIY Ribbon Pumpkins gave me inspiration to make these velvet pumpkins. I used the same technique, just with a different type of ribbon. I also got the opportunity to utilize a new and unique way to make pumpkin stems (using twine).
