Big Fun Art Adventure owl trail

We love an art trail and there have been some fun ones around this year. We tried to walk the Heritage Summer Trail around London Heritage Quarter earlier this year, but we picked the busiest Saturday in London and had to give up. Luckily a few weeks later we managed to discover the wonderful dog sculptures from the Canary Wharf Art Trail, the Little Egg Hunt Trail and SmileyWorld.

The Big Fun Art Adventure is a sculpture trail of owls around north London, delivered by North London Hospice in partnership with Wild in Art. There are more than 30 giant owl sculptures, alongside a parliament of 30 smaller owlets designed by local schools and community groups. Each owl has been sponsored by a business and decorated by local and regional artists, celebrating the vibrancy and culture of North London.
The trail is around for 8 weeks and has been placed around iconic spots and local hidden gems such as Muswell Hill, Alexandra Palace, Crouch End, Wood Green, Tottenham. The trail runs from August 17th to 13th October 2024 so there is still plenty of time to go and discover it. There is also a free trail app to discover the sculpture and collect rewards as you go.
The other weekend we went to the theatre at Ally Pally and discovered three of the sculptures:
Nocturnals by Amanda Quellin

Jack by Matt Lucas and Donna Newman

Eugene created by Rob Biddulph and Tim Timmington

The owls look pretty similar to those we found as part of the Big Hoot Chichester and Arundel 2024 during the summer holidays. We found lots of owls on every main street in Chichester!
