WHAT ARE DEVILED EGGS:
I’m assuming that most of you know what deviled eggs are, but just in case you don’t know or have never tried one, let me explain the classic version before we talk about our unique deviled egg recipes in this post!
Deviled eggs are hard-boiled eggs that have been peeled, cut in half, and then filled with a yummy filling. As I mentioned above, the filling can be made in a variety of ways. However, the ”classic recipe” is made using the original egg yolk, yellow mustard, mayonnaise, black pepper, white vinegar, and salt. Then, depending on your taste, some people add a particular type of garnish like paprika or chives.
Once this ”classic recipe” is made you can place it back into the cut-in-half egg or you can take your egg up a notch with color!
By color, I mean dying the white egg portion! You can do pastels for Easter, patriotic colors for the 4th of July, or holiday colors for Christmas. If you don’t believe me, just Google it! I might have to make a part two just about colored deviled eggs!
With all that in mind, today we are setting our traditional deviled egg recipe aside and are going to be focusing on 20 flavorful deviled egg recipes. These recipes are easy to make and are perfect for everyday dinners or for those special occasions like Easter,(with no color dying involved)!
So, grab some hard-boiled eggs and filling ingredients, and let’s make some unique deviled egg recipes!
